Charity: Landscape Ahead Insights

Embarking on a journey

Exploring the landscape ahead.

In a world of constant change and new challenges, communication is crucial. Charities have to speak to donors in a straightforward, simple and logical way to cut through all the noise to get their message across and ensure everybody is travelling in the same direction.

Leading the way

Charity leaders recognise that they will need to demonstrate a changing set of skills and capabilities if they are to help their organisations find the correct course through the uncharted waters of the future.

Matt Hammerstein, CEO, UK Corporate Bank and Head of Public Policy & Corporate Responsibility at Barclays, says that “one of the key aspects of leading a charity effectively is the ability to build partnerships to keep the organisation relevant in a fast-changing world.”

He adds “communicating the charity’s purpose in a transparent, clear and consistent way is also key, as is fostering diversity of thought, to adapt to change and meet the challenges and opportunities at the heart of the charity's mission.”

Looking to the future

Here we share the insights from our 12th National Charities Day, looking at strategies for confronting new challenges, taking advantage of opportunities and reflecting on some of the key themes in the sector. Many thanks to all our contributors.
